Exploring new ideas, new technologies and building prototypes was an important part of Helge’s childhood. He programmed a calculator on punched cards in high school and invented an assistive listening device for his deaf sister. Enrolling at uni, he could not decide between physics, chemistry, biology, electronics or history. A compromise became Pedagogy and Media. After teaching for a short while, the entrepreneurial spirit won, and he started one of the first independent TV production companies in Norway, built a TV bus, integrated a Mac II into TV graphics and connected it to the internet in 1993. The interconnected universe was inspiring and in 1994 he founded Media Lab, the first internet consulting company in Norway. They made the first online shop, the first online payment service, the first online gaming company. After many mergers, Media Lab is now a part of Bouvet. Since then, Helge has started a dozen new tech startups and acquired patents for technology developed.
